Also known as Trypticase or Soybean-Casein Digest, Tryptic Soy Broth is a general purpose medium for the cultivation of fastidious and nonfastidious microorganisms, including common aerobic, facultative and anaerobic bacteria and fungi. Whether you need a general-purpose, nonselective media or you need added blood to facilitate a more fasitdious bacterial lawn for the detection of hemolytic reactions, we have several products to choose from. MOLTOX does not provide microorganisms for testing. Some media are temperature sensitive and may have specific temperature and storage requirements for shipping/delivery.

Lactobacilli MRS (LMRS) Agar is a selective and non-differential medium used for the isolation, enumeration, and cultivation of Lactobacillus spp. and Leuconostoc spp.. Originally developed in 1960 by de Man, Rogosa & Sharpe, the medium is suitable for most lactic acid bacteria and is intended as a substitute for Tomato Juice Agar. Selectivity against Streptococci and Fungi is provided by ammonium citrate and sodium acetate. Chameleon™ mEI Agar is a selective and differential, chromogenic medium used for the identification of Enterococcus. Levin, et al. developed a two-step membrane filter method to measure enterococci in fresh and marine recreational waters. Using mE Agar, the method required a 48-hour incubation and a transfer of the membrane to another substrate medium, Esculin Iron Agar, to differentiate enterococci. In 1997, the EPA improved the mE Agar formula by reducing the amount of triphenyltetrazolium chloride contained in the medium and also added the chromogen indoxyl-B-D-glucoside. The new medium, mEI Agar, was developed as a single-step procedure that does not require the transfer of the membrane to another substrate.• Product meets APHA, EPA, and SMWW reference methods and performance criteria.• mEI should be used by trained professionals within a laboratory setting. • Product is not intended for use in the diagnosis or treatment of disease or other human conditions.

MacConkey (MAC) Agar is a selective and differential medium used for the detection and isolation of Gram-Negative enteric bacilli. Escherichia coli can ferment lactose to produce acid which results in a pH drop. This is indicated by neutral red resulting in pink colonies. Increased acid production results in the precipitation of bile salts, or a halo, around lactose fermenting bacteria. Non-lactose fermenting bacteria such as Salmonella spp. grow but remain colorless with no bile precipitate. • Product meets AOAC, BAM, CLSI, and Harmonized USP/EP/JP, NF, SM-Dairy, and SMWW reference methods and performance criteria.• MacConkey Agar should be used by trained professionals within a laboratory setting. • For in vitro diagnostic (IVD) use.• Product is not intended for use in the diagnosis or treatment of disease or other human conditions.

Bacteroides Bile Esculin (BBE) agar is an enriched, selective, & differential Med. used for the isolation & presumptive ID of obligately anaerobic gram-negative bacilli of the Bacteroides fragilis group & Bilophila wadsworthia. This media is prepared, stored, & dispensed under oxygen-free conditions to prevent the formation of oxidized products prior to use. This Med. is also available in a 4-plate package or packaged w/ other media types in a single convenience pack.BBE agar contains casein, soy peptones, hemin, & vitamin K as the nutritive base. Selective agents include gentamicin to inhibit facultative anaerobes & bile to inhibit most anaerobes other than the B. fragilis group. Esculin & ferric ammonium citrate permits the recognition of esculin hydrolysis through a brown to black coloration around the esculin-positive colonies. Bilophila spp. may produce black-centered colonies from hydrogen sulfide prod.

For propagation and maintenance of E. Coli. Low Salt Formula. Molecular Biology Grade.
Dissolve 20 grams in 1 liter distilled water. Then adjust pH to 7.2. Heat and frequently agitate to completely dissolve. Sterilize by autoclaving for 15 minutes.

Yeast Extract: 5 g/L
